Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H. Born in 1824 in Pemberton, New Jersey, author's family later moved to Quincy, Illinois. Studied law, graduating in 1846. In 1849 joined the rush to California. In California, spent an initial period in mine fields before eventually settling in Oroville. Served as Senator from Butte County, practiced law and in 1869 was elected Judge of the Second Judicial District. From the description of Copy of Judge Charles F.
